Impossible Balance

A glass and a card are shown the glass magically balances on top of the thin card. Amazing magic that is easy to perform and to make at home.

What you need: Any cup or glass, as long as it is not real heavy, two playing cards and some glue or rubber cement.

Preparation:
Take one of the cards and fold it in half lengthwise. You now have a line down the middle of one card. On one folded half on the number side put glue. Then stick it to the back of the other card. Make sure the two cards are matched up even. After they dry open up the flap that is not glued down. Go ahead and bend it back a little. You now have the magic T card. When the flap is held down the back looks normal and the front does too.

Performance:
Make sure nobody is above you or looking down at your table. With the audience In front of you pick up the Glass in one hand and the magic T card in the other. Hold the card Flap closed standing up on the table. Hold  the glass right above the T card while you move the flap out. Slowly place the glass on the T card. Wave your hands slowly on the sides of the balancing glass for a few seconds then grab the glass and close the flap of the T card. You will have to hold the flap closed as you show both front and back of the card. Everyone will wonder how you did it. Even magicians will be fooled.
